Product Description
The heavy-duty stainless-steel tripod has an underside brace that holds eyepieces. The tripod by itself weighs 20 pounds but has a large capacity. The attachment bolt is M12 x 1.75. Both the column and the mount head are precision-made in the USA. The head now includes precision-ground stainless shafts, stainless steel roller bearings, and a big 3" Teflon bearing on each axis.
With the M002C mount head (with dual Vixen and Losmandy style shoe) and the MEC012 column attached, the telescope will sit 42" - 64" high when positioned horizontally, depending on how far the tripods legs are extended. The complete mounting set-up will hold a 25-pound telescope.
The total weight for the tripod, column, and mount head together is 25 pounds.

Just what I needed
Just recently received both the Stellarvue 102 mm scope and the M002CS . I have not yet had the opportunity to use the scope or the mount but I know from almost 58 years of being an amateur astronomer that this is a match made in Heaven. There is only one thing I could hope Vic - that the M2 alt-az mount could be outfitted with digital setting circles and hopefully if you get around to this , it can be such that I can send my mount to you for an update. You make some great stuff ! Reply from Vic: Frank - thank you for your positive review. This is the fourth iteration of the M2 and I think it is as good as it gets. There is a company in Australia working on an encoder kit and I will check with JMI and see if they want to make a solution for the new upgraded M2C. Stay tuned as when one is made we will place it on our website. Thanks again. Vic Maris

Very nice Alt-Azimuth mount
I was needing a good grab and go mount for my Stellarvue 4" F11 Achromat refractor and this complete mounting system fits the bill. Very sturdy stainless steel tripod and the MC2 mount is silky smooth. Looks great too. An excellent value at $599.

Just What The doctor ordered
I needed a good tripod and mount for my 111mm refractor telescope that weighs about 14 1/2 pounds with the finder scope. The mount I had it on before just didn't cut it. I researched many mount systems before choosing this one. As usual, Stellarvue pulled through with an excellent product at a fair price. To describe this mount in one word, I would say "solid." The tripod is substantial and the Stellarvue Mount and column are heavy and sturdy. The whole system exudes outstanding workmanship. When in use, the telescope moves smoothly and stays in place when you stop its motion. Although the mount doesn't have slo-motion knobs, I really don't miss them. The telescope is easily controlled by hand. Finally, I suggest that if you are considering this system, give Stellarvue a call. They can give you more information and answer your questions.
