    Product Description

     

    This is a 48 mm extension tube that adds 30 mm of length. The outside diameter is 2.0". The male thread is just under 3 mm long and the female thread is about 6 mm deep.

      I needed to achieve the requird back focus between my RedCat 51 and ZWO ASI533MC CCD camera. The Stellarvue expert staff helped me do this by promptly sending me this adapter.

      Threads barely compatible

      I purchased this to fit on a Lumicon nosepiece to extend the reach into a Baader click-lock. But the threads, even though they are stated to be the same (M48-030), only screw together about 4mm (quarter turn). I can get a half turn with some force, but not too much to strip or ruin the threads. It seems like a tight enough fit, but these two parts do not screw all the way together. Otherwise, the quality is very good. Mike: Thank you for your observation. I measured the pitch and diameter of the ones we have here and they are correct so I wonder if a thread got damaged or if one of the items you are threading into is not actually an M48X.75 which it should be. There are many threaded filters and adapters that vary from this diameter and pitch floating around out there. If you are certain what you are threading into meets spec I would be more than happy to send you another if you think there is an issue with the one we sent you. Just email us! Thank you.       I purchased every M48 extension tube Stellarvue has to offer in order to get the spacing just right for my EdgeHD SCT and I was amazed at the build quality. They are light weight and solid. Combining them allows me to get perfect images without vignetting on a full frame DSLR.

      I recently purchased 4 different extensions from Vic at Stellarvue. I've come to expect nothing but high quality coming out of Auburn--- which is what I got. I'll be giving this review for the other 3 extensions.
