Product Description
We offer both low profile and high-profile finder scope rings that fit a large variety of telescopes. Our rings use rails that are the most common in the industry with a dovetail shape for easy quick connect and disconnect. Choose the configuration you need listed below and select the code above to get the ring system that will fit your particular telescope.
Mounting to a Newtonian Reflector: Select code "AT" above. It has the lightweight FB shoe.
Mounting to a Refractor Focuser that has a standard dovetail shoe: Select code "DA" above. This high-profile stalk has a dovetail shape at the bottom for attaching it to finder scope dovetail shoes used on Stellarvue refractors and many others.
Mounting to a Refractor Mounting Ring: Select code "ET" above. This uses the FB shoe and has a machined adapter that attaches it to the top of a 1" wide telescope mounting ring.
Mounting to some Refractor Focusers that do not have a shoe: Select code "FA" above. This one uses an FB shoe. Check the FB drawing above and make sure the slots on the FB match the threaded hole spacing on your focuser. It may be necessary to place small washers under the FB shoe when attaching it to your focuser, so it does not bend.
Mounting to a Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope (SCT): Select code "ST" above. This one uses the larger FBD shoe. Check the FBD drawing above and make sure the slots on the shoe have the correct spacing for your SCT. It generally fits 8" and larger SCT's.
Note: We do not supply these with attachment screws. Many SCT mirror cells use threaded holes that are open and if too long a screw is used it can strike and damage the mirror. So, use the appropriate length screw that will not extend into the mirror cell deeper than the screws you remove from these threaded holes.
Mounting to a Takahashi Refractor: Select code "TAK" above.
Note: We do not supply these with attachment screws. Many SCT mirror cells use threaded holes that are open and if too long a screw is used it can strike and damage the mirror. So, use the appropriate length screw that will not extend into the mirror cell deeper than the screws you remove from these threaded holes.
Mounting to a Takahashi Refractor: Select code "TAK" above.
Mounting your Finder Scope to a Telescope Mount using a Vixen-size Rail: Select code "V" above. This allows you to attach the finder to a mount as if it is a telescope. Please note the Vixen rail is a telescope rail not the smaller finder scope rail.
