D rail - 13" (TP013A)

I'm very pleased with he 13" D Rail. Very well made and it accommodates everything I need it for.

I was looking for a Losmandy-style dovetail plate/rail and came across this one from StellarVue. After careful measurement and looking at a dimensional diagram of this plane, I determined that I could use it on my present rings without having to change their spacing - important because the handle on my telescope also attaches to these rings. As it turned out, due to the very low profile of my mounting surface on the rings, I had to add 1/8 inch thick spacers between this plate and the rings. After picking up some M6 screws about 4 mm longer (to accommodate the spacers), I mounted the plate solidly to the rings with 2 screws at each end, which was my goal.

I purchased this D rail for my Stellarvue SVX 180T telescope that I recently bought. It matches the rail that came with the telescope. This is a heavy telescope and I wanted another rail to use with the handle I also purchased. This makes moving the telescope from its case to the mount easier and much safer. No one wants to drop an expensive telescope!

I ordered this with a telescope and the dovetail came attached to the scope securely.

A beautifully machined Losmandy style plate. I replaced a vixen -style rail and I now feel my equipment is more secure and with the added length balancing my scope has been made much easier. I did have to add a couple of washers to the safety screw due to the vixen slot on my mount.

This rail seems to be of excellent quality. Can wait to get my new scope and put it to use.

I have three of these. Very solid and sturdy for the item weight. Highly recommend.
