Dark Sky Star Party
This stunning image was taken at the Stellarvue Dark Sky Star Party in 2019 by Tony Hallas. It shows the Milky Way from Scorpius to Andromeda and the telescope field where 50 Stellarvue owners get to see the night sky as it should be seen! Stellarvue hosts the Dark Sky Star Party (DSSP) in Likely California during the new moon week in June, the best time to observe here. Watch as the Milky Way glides over the telescope field.
This star party IS NOT open to the public; it is a private event offered as a benefit of ownership only to Stellarvue owners. Each year 50 Stellarvue owners get to camp under magnitude 8 skies and either image, view, and/or do various activities. Just walking under the Milky Way which extends from horizon to horizon is simply stunning.
The dates are Thursday June 15, departing by Monday, June 19. We are maintaining the 50 person limit. We are planning to have dinners catered as before and with the cafe on site serving breakfast and lunch, participants can camp without cooking. We have reserved the 20 full hookup campsites adjacent to the telescope field and the field itself. Tent campers camp right on the field.
In the past people who did not have much notice could not sign up in time. To give everyone an equal opportunity we will randomly select names from those who apply and the first 50 people (including spouses) who are selected will be registered for the event. Payment and liability waivers must be received within ten days of being selected or we will go down the list to fill the event in August of this year giving people time to plan their time off.

Don't delay in applying to attend! Here is what you need to do:
Email orders@stellarvue.com. Include the following information in the email:
- Your name and spouses name if they will be joining you.
- Address
- Telephone
- The Stellarvue telescope you will be taking with you to the event and any other telescope you may be bringing
- If you need a primitive tent site or a full-hookup site. If you have a trailer or RV you must select a full hookup site as these vehicles are not allowed to camp on the field.
- If you plan to stay Sunday night
- T-shirt size(s)
Please include all seven items above and email us before the end of this month, July. We will randomly number each applicant, notify the first fifty people and charge them for the event. New signed waivers and payment must be received within one week. If any applicant changes their mind or fails to respond with the waiver we will move down the list until the 50 people are selected. Any additional names will be placed on a notification list should anyone cancel.

The telescope field is covered with grass (no cowpies), is sprayed by the resort for mosquitoes (it almost works) and the resort has astronomer-friendly, IDA approved lighting.

2021 - THE NON-DSSP DARK SKY STAR PARTY
