This is the base that is part of the FBR finder shoe that mounts to a hinged telescope mounting ring. If you already have the FB shoe on your finder ring system, this base will allow you to mount it to your hinged rings assuming they have threaded holes in the center on top. To mount this base to your mounting ring, first determine if the threaded holes on your rings are 1/4-20 or 6 mm. Import rings come both ways, Stellarvue SVX refractor rings are 1/4-20 whereas the import Access telescopes are often 6 mm. The base comes with one 1/4-20 screw and one 6 mm screw. Use the correct screw so you do not damage the threads on your rings.
The FBR-2 works with standard 1" wide rings. It also has a recess that will accomodate the thinner Access telescope rings. Two threaded holes that are 20 mm apart (M5 X .8 thread), are machined into this base to hold our standard FB shoe. Refer to the technical drawing above to see the dimensions of this base.
