Product Description
This is our deluxe case for the Stellarvue SVX127D, SVX130T and the Raptor version of the SVX140T (the one that has a carbon fiber tube and dew shield). Each telescope should have a dew shield that is 6 5/8" in diamter. If you have an SVX140T with an aluminum tube that has a 7.33" diameter dew shield, use the C140-SKB case.
The case comes in three different styles:
1. Empty case: You supply your own padding.
2. Layered Foam: Layers of solid eurathane foam that you cut using an electric carving knife. For this option we suggest you use spray contact cement to combine adhere the layers together, mark and then cut the foam with an electric carving knife. This is the soft foam that comes with the SKB case and it is very cushy and insulating. It is not as durable or as water-resistant as the custom PE foam used in our custom cases.
3. Custom Cut Foam: As shown when you select this option, we use durable, solid poly Foam custom cut to fit the SX130T or SVX140T-R Raptor. This case accepts the telescope including rings, bottom and top rails and focus motor. The case is roomy enough for the 1" riser bars and rail on top to accomodate your control box mounted underneath. The upgrade cost on this durable foam is at our cost. This is the most durable, and moisture resistent foam.
Note: We do not recommend you purchase pluck foam for these cases as it will deteriorate after only a few uses.
