To commemorate the historic Apollo 11 mission to the moon, we chose to use a lunar image. It also gave us an excuse to use this 2017 Solar Eclipse image submitted by Dennis Sprinkle, using his SV70T. High dynamic range shows the corona as well as details on the moon as it was lit from the Earth shine (13 bracketed images to capture this detail). If you'd like to capture a similar image to this, the next total solar eclipse is on July 2, 2019 with totality running through Chili and Argentina. The next total solar eclipse visible from North America will be April 8, 2024. Image copyright Dennis Sprinkle, www.rocksolidphoto.com
