Stellar Shot of the Week: November 26, 2021
"C/2021 A1 (Leonard)" - by Aidan Guerra
We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, and maybe even some clear skies to enjoy your gear with friends and family. For this week's Stellar Shot of the week we want to acknowledge Aidan Guerra (@agastrophotography) and his fantastic acquisition of a comet named 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. This photo is particularly impressive as it captured the comet passing both M35 and NGC 2158, which really give some perspective to this little ball of ice. This image totals exactly 3 hours of exposure, and it was taken with his trusty SV70T and a ZWO ASI533MC. Aidan evidently planned and anticipated this shot for weeks, but the final image was collected on October 16th. Aidan has also captured a great shot of the up-and-coming comet C/2021 Leonard, which we recommend you check out over on his page too. It's amazing what can be done with even small instruments like the SV70T, and Aidan's work just keeps on impressing us.
Great work by Aidan, and we would love to see your work too! If anyone else with images taken by their Stellarvue scopes wants to submit their images we would love to see what you're out there capturing these days! Please submit your shots any time by email (using mail@stellarvue.com) or by tagging them with #stellarvue and #stellarshot.
