Brian Meyers captured this brilliant shot of the Andromeda Galaxy (Messier 31) using his SVX090T. This barred spiral galaxy is the nearest major galaxy to the Milky Way, is 2.5 million light-years away and 152,000 light-years across. Among the brightest of the Messier objects, the Andromeda Galaxy has a magnitude of 3.4 and is visible to the naked eye from Earth on moonless nights.
