Stellar Shot of the Week: July 16, 2021
"M81, M82, and NGC3077" - by Eric Dreher
Congratulations to this week's Stellar Shot selection, which goes to a very uniquely-framed version of one of our favorite targets. Eric used his SVX102T to capture this wide(r)-field image of M81 and M82, but thanks to some unique framing we are even able to see the lesser-known elliptical galaxy known as NGC 3077. Everything from the details in the galaxies to the color and shape of the stars feels well-processed and properly balanced, but Eric himself was especially proud of all of the even-smaller galaxies speckled throughout the image as well.
Eric has a number of impressive shots taken using this SVX102T, the ZWO ASI1600mm-p, and the ever-impressive Mach 1GTO from Astro-Physics. To see the rest of his work or the full size version of this shot, we recommend you head over to Eric's astrobin page, https://www.astrobin.com/users/epdreher/ (or search for him using the username of "epdreher"). Please also make sure to submit your own images to us by email (mail@stellarvue.com) or by tagging them on social media with #stellarvue and #stellarshot.
