Kevin Legore caught this excellent image of IC 434 in Orion with his friend David's SVX180T. This bright emission nebula sits about 1,500 light-years away from Earth and has a diameter of roughly 3 light-years. The dark dust illuminated by IC 434 is known as the Horsehead Nebula and comprises interstellar clouds with alternating sections of near-complete opacity and transparency.
According to Bryan: "First light with my friend David's SVX-180 from Bryan's remote observatory. Eight hours of exposure time."
