Product Description
The SVX102T is the aluminum tube version of our premier high-performance lightweight 4” f-7. (714mm focal length) air-spaced apo triplet refractor. This telescope has recently been reviewed by Tony Hallas in Astronomy Magazine and was also reviewed in Sky and Telescope magazine by Dennis DiCicco. Two outstanding reviews by recognized experts in their field. The SVX102T is our most popular telescope since it is relatively light and portable. The102T can be made airline carry-on size by simply unthreading the focuser.
The telescope comes standard with a Stellarvue F-SV3B 3" dual-speed, fully-rotating focuser with 2" and 1.25" adapters. This size focuser minimizes vignetting. Our 3" Stellarvue focuser is popular, 90% of the orders we receive for this telescope specify this focuser as it is smooth and stable. It makes a great imaging focuser and works well with either the Optec, Prima-Luce or ZWO EAF focus motors. This telescope may also be upgraded to a 3" Feather Touch or MoonLite NiteCrawler focuser by selecting the options above.
Available now: Stellarvue SVX102T Refractors are now available when ordered with the standard Stellarvue 3" focuser. There is usually a reasonable waiting period for those ordered with either a Feather Touch or a Moonlite focuser. Call us at (530) 823-7796 or email us at mail@stellarvue.com for estimated delivery times for those models.
Fully Multi-Coated Apochromatic Triplet Objective: This telescope has a 101.5mm f-7 apochromatic triplet objective with an Ohara FPL-53 center element and provides extremely high-contrast and reflector-like color correction.
Optics: SVX102T is rated at .97 Strehl or higher as measured on our Zygo Phase Shifting Interferometer in red light. Once the aberrations are minimized, we move the center of correction toward the middle of the visual spectrum. Visit our SVX Optics Page to learn more about this process.
This is our most popular telescope, and sales have doubled thanks to the high-quality images that have been taken by so many through the years. These optics are meticulously hand figured in our shop to minimize aberrations. Our customers buy this telescope with confidence in both the optics and our level of personal support after the sale.

Amazing image quality
I have a lot of experience with high quality lenses in general photography and microscopy, but only a few telescopes. But this telescope produces the highest image quality I have ever seen, even compared to fourteen thousand dollar long lenses by Nikon or the best Zeiss microscope objectives. The only thing I've seen that compares is the SVX130T I bought earlier this year. So grateful there isn't a lottery and waiting list to obtain these telescopes..

SVX 102 T
I can’t wait to use the new telescope more. In t is exceptional in quality and perfectly matched with my Losmandy mount. I know that I will be using it for many years to come. Customer service could not have been better. I am very happy with my choice.

SVX102T is fantastic
This telescope is such an elite class of optics. Upgrading to this scope from my old Chinese doublet has me ready to never buy any refractor that isn’t Stellarvue ever again. I am already saving up for the SVX80T for a 2nd more mobile rig… Vic and everyone at the shop was incredible to work with and I am increasingly excited to work with and I am increasingly excited to use my SVX102T the more I actually use it. I could not be happier with my purchase.

SVX 102-T
I have not been able to get first light with this telescope yet, however, as far as the finish goes and assembly, it looks beautiful. It came with a very nice case too. I will add another review when I get it out under the stars and have some photons hitting the sensor.

SVX102T
perfect scope. The only reason I am giving it 4 is because it was scratched.

Exceeded Expectations
As my subject says, the SVX102T exceeded my expectations. The build quality is phenomenal, including Stellarvue's own focuser. I was upgrading from a 30-year old telescope and wanted to purchase a 100mm category scope that would equally stand the test of time. What sold me on the Stellarvue was that it's made in the US (nothing against other countries of manufacture, but I live in the US); great customer service prior to purchasing (answering questions, etc.); the youtube video of Sky and Telescope magazine visiting Stellarvue (a must watch); and the QA/QC given to each telescope and lens prior to shipment. The weather in the northeast has been horrendous lately, but I was finally able to use it last night without any issues.

SV102T
I was surprised to see that there are only 10 reviews for this model! I have the older version SV102T with similar optics and attention to detail as the SVX102T. I can't communicate enough superlatives about this scope. My previous scope was a "quality" 80mm Chinese scope which actually exceeded my expectations... but I didn't; know what I was missing until I got the Stellarvue SV102T! Star color is excellent with almost undetectable fringing, and the detail in photographed nebulae is fantastic, exceeding what is commonly expected for a 4 inch scope.. I also ordered the SFFX1 Field flattener which gives me pinpoint stars to all edges with a full frame camera. If you ask a question, most often Vic Maris, the owner of Stellarvue, will personally reply. After I ordered the field flattener, Vic reached out to me to ensure that all details were correct before he accepted my order. This is outstanding customer service and I couldn't be happier!

SVX102T
Absolutely the most amazing OTA I’ve ever looked through. I’ve even rediscovered visual viewing again..

SVX102T
I already have a triplet SV70T for about more than 3 years and decide to keep the SV70T for wide field astrophotography and want something with bigger aperture for galaxy’s and also for visual observations, so I decided to order the SVX102T refractor. I already have more than 7 telescopes and had more than 10 newtonian, refractors, SCT etc, but when I look through this triplet APO even with light pollution Bortle sky 8, I am so surprised about how much light this refractor can get and the quality looking a double cluster with those tiny with perfect contrast and natural color stars. The 3 inch SV focuser is rock solid that after tested, it perform perfectly holding my monochrome camera with filter wheels without any problem. I don’t regret for the waiting period of this telescope, so for that waiting period you will get a masterpiece beautiful and perfect for visual observation and astrophotography quality telescope.
